Vitamin B7 (formerly known as anti-egg white injury factor, biotin or vitamin H) is a sulfur containing B complex vitamin. Biotin deficiency occurs with prolonged consumption of raw egg white. It directly participates as a coenzyme in the carboxylation reactions of fatty acid synthesis, gluconeogenesis and catabolism of branched chain amino acids.
